This man is wearing a polyester tie and ordinary inexpensive proper classic shirt, but just look how good he looks. You don't have to spend a lot of money to be properly and smartly dressed. I think in this case the polyester tie looks smarter than a silk tie would. As does the polyester cotton shirt with a classic collar.
Look carefully: It is not the monetary cost of a shirt or tie that makes a man look smart? It is the style and having a smart and consistent disciplined attitude to dressing properly.

An ordinary shirt and tie is the smartest shirt and tie as it creates discipline and humility in the man who wears it every day.
